The town of Buffalo Gap was located alogside the little stream that flowed into onto the plains into the Cheyenne River. This is the story how the natural route for the buffalo that summered in the mountains to travel onto the plains where they wintered, passage way was changed forever when gold was discovered in the Black Hills. Open range life changed for its people that occuppied Buffal Gap.
